Why clients call VESPA

Three practice lines, one team

Most firms sell you a project or a training calendar. VESPA is built to sit across both: and the Center of Excellence that eventually owns them.

Consulting

Decisions, delivered

Strategic and architectural engagements: from a single econometric model to an enterprise-wide analytics function build-out.

Mentoring

Capability, transferred

Structured, cohort-based upskilling so your own team can own what we build.

CoE Building

A function, not a project

Standing up the governance, hiring pipeline and hub-and-spoke model behind a durable analytics practice.

Economics of AI

We don't sell the latest AI. We build the next useful capability.

AI is not the destination; economic value is. We do not measure an intelligence system by how sophisticated it sounds, but by what it changes on your P&L.

"Data becomes intelligence. Intelligence guides decisions. Decisions drive action. Everything else is speculative overhead."

AI is not the destination; economic value is. Every initiative is underwritten against one of five ROI categories before it scales.

P&L Impact Revenue Cost Risk Asset AI & Knowl.
01 · Revenue

About VESPA

A practitioner-led practice, not an accident.

VESPA Analytics & Consulting was founded in 2014 in Bengaluru by three senior analytics practitioners who shared a conviction: that most organisations do not lack data; they lack the practitioner depth to turn it into decisive business action.

What began as independent, hands-on client work grew, over a decade, into a dedicated consulting, mentoring and Centre-of-Excellence practice, built on the belief that analytics only earns its place in the boardroom once it has proven itself on the P&L.

VESPA Analytics & Consulting Strategic Practice Boardroom, Bengaluru

Founding Team

Three founders. One discipline.

VESPA is led by three founding partners with a combined 60+ years of industry experience spanning Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics. across manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, and technology. One founder holds a PhD in Decision Sciences and is known publicly as the practice's "AI Alchemist."

Philosophy

What "Economics of AI" means here

Every engagement is judged on one question first: does this model or system earn its keep on a P&L before it earns a place in a boardroom deck? Treating AI as an economic capital decision rather than a technology procurement is what VESPA terms the Economics of AI, and it runs through every practice line.

Services

Consulting, mentoring, and the CoE that outlives both

Services are segregated into three lines so a client can buy exactly the depth of engagement they need, then seamlessly graduate from one phase into the next.

Phase 01 · Consulting

Decisions, delivered

Strategic and architectural engagements: diagnostic and opportunity sizing, model and architecture design, and the insourcing/outsourcing framework behind it.

Phase 02 · Mentoring

Capability, transferred

Everything in Consulting, plus structured, cohort-based coaching so your own internal team learns to operate, monitor, and own what gets built.

Phase 03 · CoE Building

A function, not a project

Everything above, plus operating governance, talent pipeline design, and a permanent global hub-and-spoke delivery capability.

Phase 04 · Masterclass

Applied depth, fast

A focused, two-day intensive teaching directly from real deployed builds, designed for leaders who want hands-on AI fluency without a multi-week commitment.

Where the value shows up

Cost optimisation and revenue generation

Every engagement is scoped against one of these two strategic levers, never analytics for its own sake.

Hindsight

What happened and why: the descriptive and diagnostic foundation most organisations already possess.

Insight

What is happening now beneath the surface: the real-time predictive layer VESPA is typically engaged to architect.

Foresight

What happens next and what to do about it: prescriptive recommendations directly tied to executive decision-making.

Why Three Cohorts, Not One Curriculum

A 0 to 2 year professional and a 10+ year architect walking into the same generic “AI training” both walk out disappointed: one is drowning in jargon with nowhere to apply it, the other is bored reviewing basics mastered a decade ago. Same underlying curriculum architecture, encompassing the entire AI Career Compass body of knowledge, strategically re-sequenced for what each career stage actually demands.

The VESPA Advantage

Why VESPA Mentoring Is a Different Kind of Mentoring

Taught From Deployed Work, Not Borrowed Cases

The Warranty Analytics platform, HNI Realty Forum, and Optivis/EREI are not hypothetical: they are operational systems VESPA scoped, architected, and deployed into enterprise production.

Cross-Industry Pattern Recognition

20+ years across automotive, pharma, healthcare, hi-tech, and telecom means a case from one sector regularly reframes a problem in another.

Senior-Led, Never Delegated

Mentoring sessions are led directly by the same senior co-founders who run VESPA's consulting and CoE engagements, never delegated to junior instructors.

A Real Path Beyond the Cohort

A mentee or their sponsoring organization can transition directly from Mentoring into Consulting or CoE Building on the same unified VESPA engagement framework.

Structure & Peer Dynamics

The Fixed 8-Person Cohort Model

Every cohort across Foundation, Upskilling, and Leadership is strictly capped to ensure mentor depth and commercial-grade code reviews.

Fixed at 8 People Per Cohort Small enough for every capstone to get real founder attention; large enough for peer review and cross-pollination across live enterprise use cases.
1:8 Founder-to-Mentee Ratio 1 lead senior facilitator per cohort of 8, ensuring every weekly session includes individual project architecture check-ins and unblocking.
Cross-Domain Composition Deliberately mixed by domain background within a tier, so case studies get compared across manufacturing, BFSI, retail, and tech.

Framework

The 4D model behind every engagement

Every VESPA project, whether consulting, mentoring, or an enterprise CoE build, runs through the same four disciplined stages, executed in precise sequence.

01

Describe

What does the data already say about the business, without any modelling assumptions yet?

02

Design

Determining which architecture, model class, and governance structure fits the decision: chosen for the business problem, not the vendor trend.

03

Develop

Build, validate and stress-test the model or system against real operating conditions.

04

Deploy

Ship into production, with the client's own team trained to own and extend it.

Right-sizing compute and model choice to the decision at hand, rather than defaulting to the largest model available.

Diversity & Rural Impact

Building pathways into analytics careers

This is a newer part of VESPA's work, so we'd rather state our goals honestly than overstate results we don't have yet. The aim is straightforward: widen who gets to enter an analytics career, starting with rural and women-led talent that rarely gets a first look from a hiring pipeline.

What we're building toward

  • Structured mentoring circles pairing seasoned practitioners with early-career non-metro engineers
  • Hands-on production telemetry sprints, replacing generic classroom theory with live data challenges
  • A structured hiring pipeline treating rural and non-metro talent as a strategic competitive advantage
  • Transparent tracking of real career advancement metrics, audited and published as cohorts mature

Use case

Delivery App Intelligence

Three years of order-level data from the client's delivery app, analysed end to end to rebuild how staffing, pricing and restaurant partner management were decided.

NLPMachine LearningEconometric Modelling

What VESPA built

Delivery agent staffing model
Matches rider supply to demand by hour and zone
An econometric demand model by micro-zone and time-of-day, translated directly into a shift-staffing plan for delivery agents.
Dynamic discounting engine
Moves margin where demand is elastic
ML-driven price elasticity by cuisine and order value, used to generate real-time discount offers instead of blanket promotions.
Restaurant rating by delivery-schedule adherence

The growth journey

One client, four engagements, over time

Read left to right, this illustrates how a single food & beverage relationship expanded over time: each engagement building on the analytical trust and data infrastructure established by the preceding phase.

01
Consulting

Delivery App Intelligence

The entry point: three years of order data turned into staffing, pricing, and partner-rating decisions. This is where VESPA earned the credibility to advise upstream.

02
CoE Building

Strategic Analytical CoE

With delivery intelligence proven, the client engaged VESPA to institutionalize this capability internally: architecture, sourcing strategy, and a global hub-and-spoke CoE.

03
Consulting + Mentoring

Cafe Digital Setup

As the business expanded into a new physical format, the same method, now executed by an internal team trained by VESPA, was applied to site selection, dynamic pricing, and floor intelligence.

04
Consulting

Sourcing Intelligence

The most recent extension: pushing analytical rigor upstream into commodity hedging and raw-material procurement decisions across the supply chain.

"Every one of these four engagements started as a targeted question. None of them stayed narrow because the data, once trusted, systematically pulled executive leadership further upstream."
